Since 2012, Unico Projects has maintained active agricultural operations in Bishnupur and Bankura District. Over more than a decade, the group has cultivated, harvested, distilled, and managed land across 100+ acres – working through seasons, soil conditions, and the full cycle of nature.
This is the operational foundation from which everything else in the Unico group has grown. The agricultural years gave the group something irreplaceable: a ground-level understanding of land behaviour, water systems, seasonal cycles, and the long-term care that productive land demands. That understanding now informs every development decision the group makes.
What We Grow & Produce
The group's lemongrass cultivation spans a significant portion of its Bankura landholding. Farmed sustainably across multiple cycles, the lemongrass is harvested and processed through an on-site distillation unit to produce essential oils - a complete farm-to-extract operation that reflects the group's commitment to productive, organised land use.
Bamboo cultivation has been part of the Unico Projects land portfolio for over a decade. Fast-growing, carbon-sequestering, and deeply versatile, bamboo is farmed not just as a commercial crop but as a long-term investment in soil health, environmental balance, and sustainable land productivity.
The group farms a range of indigenous medicinal plant varieties across its Bankura landholding - combining traditional agricultural knowledge with responsible, sustainable cultivation practices. This work reflects a broader commitment to farming that respects the land's natural ecology while generating productive value.
